Being human is complicated.
For the most, part we figure life out as we go, learning what we can from those around us. When hard things happen, we're sometimes able to muddle our way through or lean on those around us and come out the other side relatively unscathed. Other times, life's challenges can seem unsurmountable. It can feel like no amount of effort, attention, or action makes a difference. We might find ourselves questioning if the things we've learned or have been told to do are helping or hurting us. It can feel lonely and isolating, even when we have people around us who care but aren't able to understand what we're going through.
Therapy can help.
Therapy offers space for you to slow down and take a breath. It's time set aside just for you, where you can tell your story without worrying how it will be received or who it will impact. It allows you to sit in the messy middle and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with no pressure to "get it right". In therapy, you can just exist exactly as you are right now. There's no role to play, no expectation to fulfill, no box for you to fit into. It's a place for growth, for breaking old patterns, and for finding new ways forward that feel aligned with who you are instead of who you've been told you should be.

Amanda Strider, RCC
Hi! I'm Amanda, a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Abbotsford, BC and I'm glad you've found your way here. I'm passionate about supporting people who feel stuck or overwhelmed, especially women navigating burnout, adhd, and chronic illness or pain.
My therapy style is eclectic and adaptive. This means our work together might include solution-focused strategies, exploring deeper meanings and emotional connections, or a mix of both depending on what you need.
I'm a nervous system nerd and you'll see that in my approach.
I work from a trauma-informed, intersectional, and anti-opressive lens. My practice is neuro- and queer-affirming and is a space where I hope you'll feel safe and empowered to show up exactly as you are. People who know me have described me as compassionate, funny, direct, and kind.
